June 2022 Gleanings
Note from the Editor
We’ve been kind of quiet, but we’re still working behind the scenes! Next on our agenda is our annual scholarship celebration. Details are still in the works, but we’ve nailed down a date and an awesome speaker. We’re still mulling over the applications for four $1,000 scholarships – or maybe more depending on the quality of our responses. We love nurturing budding journalists. We’re also getting ready to launch a new way to reach out and hear from our membership, and working on an updated website. Stay tuned! Have something for Gleanings? Email me: nclauer@gmail.com.

Get ready for Springly
Your Treasurer, Michael Phillips, has been busy migrating our club roster, website, communications, and accounting onto a new platform from Springly.
Springly is used by more than 20,000 organizations around the world to help with membership management. In addition to hosting our website and emails, the Springly platform will also handle membership registration and renewals, ticket sales for future Big Island Press Club events, and more! The system will also produce IRS‐friendly receipts and records for those wishing to donate to our Foundation on a one time or ongoing basis.
As this migration process continues, you’ll be getting email updates to verify and/or pay your membership dues. Emails will come from “Springly” and “Big island Press Club” –if you’re ever concerned about the legitimacy of an email, feel free to reach out to Michael for help and advice: mphillips@weatherboy.com
You’ll see and hear more about Springly from us this summer as the migration and set‐up is completed.
